The Lift-A-Loft TMX series truck-mounted maintenance lift is now available with an option for a telescopic overhead lanyard system. The overhead lanyard system was designed to provide workers fall arrest protection while performing crown maintenance on aircraft.  The fall arrest system can safely allow three workers to be attached while centered over the fuselage of an aircraft.

Sabre Industries Inc. recently took delivery of two Shuttlelift DB 30 double-beam mobile gantry cranes, one each for its operations in Sioux City, Iowa, and Alvarado, Texas. The machines were delivered last November, and according to Darwin Gamm, director of special projects for Sabre Industries’ Towers and Poles division, they are meeting and exceeding expectations.

Fuel costs continue to escalate for construction and industrial equipment owners, and to help increase fuel savings, Industrial Lift & Hoist reports Bailey Cranes has rolled out a new line of battery- and hybrid-powered carry-deck cranes. The 18,000-lb. capacity IC-18 is the first in a line of four industrial crane models that Bailey Cranes plans to produce. The family of cranes will range in capacity from 9,000 to 36,000 lbs.

Powered Access Reports Indicate Growth in U.S. Rental Market

IPAF estimates the worldwide rental fleet for powered access equipment  to be around 950,000 units.

 

The U.S. aerial work platform rental market experienced robust growth in 2012 (+6%) to reach approximately $6.6 billion, according to the IPAF US Powered Access Rental Market Report 2013. While rental companies kept fleet sizes steady in 2011, 2012 saw a return to fleet expansion (+6%). Fleet size and investments are expected to increase in 2013.

Only about a decade ago, 10,000-lb. telehandlers were the largest commonly seen telehandlers, but engineering feats over the years have more than quadrupled these machines’ capacities. The 2012 Lift and Access Showcase & Symposium featured walkaround demonstrations of four larger telescopic handlers that ranged in capacity from 10,000 to 30,000 lbs. Telehandlers featured in the demonstrations included the 10,000-lb. capacity JCB 510-56 Loadall, the 12,000-lb. capacity JLG G12-55A, the 20,000-lb.
